About Me

Welcome to Unashamed Counselling. My name is Aelaf Dyck and I believe every person and relationship hold the potential for healing, growth, and reconnection.
I hold a master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, along with academic training in Sociology, Social Anthropology, and Public Health. With over 15 years of experience in community development and the mental health sector, I have had the privilege of supporting vulnerable communities across diverse cultures.
My therapeutic practice draws from Emotionally Focused Couple's Therapy (EFT), Narrative Therapy, and Intergenerational Family Therapy. I integrate my interdisciplinary background to help clients recognize the patterns shaping their relationships and re-author their stories in ways that reflect their values, hopes, and strengths.
My approach is grounded in honoring each client’s unique identity and the complexities of their cultural, intergenerational, and family dynamics. I believe that meaningful therapeutic change happens within a relationship where clients feel seen, heard, and deeply respected.
